Ping`s Mandarin Restaurant in San Rafael

mediocre food, not too bad but nothing fantastic. WATCH OUT FOR THE SPICY MUSTARD SAUCE ON THE HOUSE SALAD!!! It is INSANELY SPICY. I'm talking pure wasabi spicy.

Really delicious food and they are so friendly. My family left there very very happy.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Marin. Best potstickers and Orange chicken I've found north of the city. My daughter always gets the Chow Mein and Broccoli Beef, and the noodles are high quality and the beef is very tender.

Great recipe with something like chocolate chips or something else that's just like chocolate

The waitress demand to be tipped by a customer for a to go order. He paid in cash. She counted the cash and the said " wait that doesn't include tips. That doesn't include tips" He was so embarrassed that he gave her money. I have worked for tips at several types of jobs; if my boss caught me saying that, then I would have been fired. This waitress was young with long black hair working on 4/2/16. By the way,I have been a customer since 1998, but I have not returned since that experience.

service, freshness, professionalism, all (A+) .. the best mandarin this side of the gate. The lunch special is too cool. Huge portion that is big enough to split with someone ... very affordable , that rings out to about $8 each if you split the lunch special

I order the bbq pork and green beans and it seemed as if it was a mixture of bad pork and fresh pork. I’ve been sick since last night after eating the food.

I love Chinese food, and have been very frustrated trying to find a great place in the San Rafael area we could count on for consistency. After trying 4-5 different places we've settled on Pings. It's decent, not great. They are very quick with take out orders so you're in and out. They usually have a coupon available which makes the pricing more reasonable. The location is tough to get to, but it's worth it for me.

A~ok with me, had yummy hot and sour soup, appetizers and excellent mango chicken!!! Even tried crispy duck with plum sauce to die for.

Tony is the nicest restaurant owner i've ever met. He is very nice and all his staff work hard and serve quickly. Food is amazing !! They had a new cook/owner for a couple of months (garbage), but they came back now. Its the only place my whole family and i get chinese food from. The place isnt the fanciest restaurant ever, but they are very welcoming and they make sure you enjoy your meal.

Delicious! Best Chinese food in the North Bay. I really like the dumplings, Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, broccoli beef, chow mein, and crispy noodles. So far everything I've had was great. Everyone who works there is really nice too.

i only ate their once. I cant say if it bad or good with one sitting. I just know I got the sesame shrimp. The sauce had a burnt taste. Nothing to nasty. Just a little off. Service was good. The place looked clean. My stomach didn't feel good that night. I will try again and review this restaurant soon. I give it a three star right now.

Their food is generally very good, except recently part of my order was "Crispy Duck"; well not so crispy as it turned out. As it was for takeout, when at home I opened to contained to discover a non-crispy, pale looking dish that could not have been in the wok longer than 30 seconds. Perfection???

Food is great, fresh and tasty. Service quick and the atmosphere there charming and cozy. I don’t give 5stars because I don’t like having the bill on the table when I am still eating my main course.

Great service, great prices, great food! Just moved to San Rafael and I'm so glad I was introduced to this place. The ambiance is nice too, with a fish tank, lots of seating. Servers were very attentive. The egg foo young was a bit bland, but the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. The sesame fried prawns had a good flavor and wasn't overly breaded. Singapore rice noodles with curry sauce... delish pan fried flavor and variety of meats. They have many unique dishes that I haven't seen before. Will be back soon!

The food is the 💣 BOMB . Lemon chicken chicken chow mein Salt and pepper Fish and Prawn Fried rice is Smashed Status. Plz try it out. You wont be disappointed at all

We have been to Ping's a couple times and we have never been disappointed. The food tasted good. The price was very affordable. The staff was nice and attentive.

Best Chinese food in Marin. Fresh ingredients, delicious dishes, and lots of menu items to choose from. The soups are amazing, as is the Princess Beef and calamari with green beans. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Ping's is one of my favorite restaurant in the area.

I just ordered a kung pao chicken and it was disgusting. There was less than 4 pieces of chicken and over 1 can of water chestnuts. I pulled out more water chestnuts than i had rice on my order. IT was horrible. By the time I got done pulling out the chestnuts i was no longer interested in the few bites that remained. ON a side note, atleast it wasnt expensive so I didnt waste any money! still =( BOOOO

Food was good that we got but we ordered take out and they messed up 2 dishes in our order. I'd say double check it before you leave

What should a person do when he ask for vegiterian dish and get one with pork? (I must add that I'm allergic to the pig neat). The owner of the restaurant thought that the best compensation will be another cup of water. One thing is certain - I'll never be back!

Every waiter is really nice and their way better service than it used to how and the chow mein is really good.

This Chinese restaurant is not my favorite. But it's a close friends favorite restaurant. Some things are great - Hot and Sour soup. Its great and if you have a cold it's actually made me feel better and shortened the cold. But some basic foods like Egg Rolls, once was enough. So try it. Food is such a personal thing. If it's my friends favorite, it may be yours. I give it a 3 as I can't speak for everyone, combined with my friends loving it. Great fortune cookies! There something else I love.

This place is so amazing with amazing food and amazing people. This place gives some goodas food that I want more I promise you’ll love this place and food it’s a very unique place. I ordered take out tonight. Even though they were slammed, they got my food done in 10 minutes. The princess chicken is so garlicky and just the right amount of spicy. The BBQ pork chow mein is killer, so is the hot and sour soup. Plus they are super friendly!

There is a woman working the desk often who couldn't be worse at her job, I see she is mentioned in other reviews. She shouldn't be in the food industry nor customer service, I have had many bad experiences with her... the food here is great so I will continue to go here though I really don't have a choice, Chinese food is lousy in this area. Portion size, taste and prices here are great although meat quality has room for improvement... still my place of choice though and I stand by that.

We arrived with a party of nine. They had room at the big table. Very friendly and professional owner. He rushed around to get everything set for us. They really took care of us. The stand out dishes for me were Salt and pepper prawns, Mongolian beef, and the cashew chicken. It was all yummy and we had a good time as well. This is one of my father's restaurants. They treat him like a celebrity. This also pleases me. Good times at Ping's!

I get to eat here a lot since I work in the area. I love how the customer service is always awesome and they keep the spot well kept regularly. Prices are reasonable and they serve generous portions.

Today was my first time coming here and I expected it to go well, got my food pretty fast, no complaints there but at the end as I payed one of the lady's asked why I didn't tip them and I just didn't think the services was worth a tip, nothing wrong with the service just not tip worthy. I told them that I was low on money and she said "take it to go next time" this place is really rude. Never coming back here.

The waiter, Tony, was friendly and the food was good. I didn’t have to wait long for a table or my food, and it was reasonably priced.

We were in n the area and decided to stop. Great decision. Tony was very helpful with my decision what to have for dinner.I had the Mongolian Beef it was delicious!! There was a nice amount of beef that was juicy and tender. The sauce had just enough spice. I ate every bite of food in the plate.My husband had the Spicy Basil Chicken. Again checked full of tender chicken breast. The chicken was tender you did not need a knife.The server walked by with a bowl of their special wonton soup. It was a large bowl looked like enough for 6 servings.Both dishes were excellent!! Everything we saw served looked appetizing. Service was friendly and welcoming .made us feel.like they valued our business.
